Access and Affordability

check_circle_outline Eliminated third-party financial service fees on vendors like Western Union and MoneyGram, resulting in a 50 percent savings for customers.

Education, Reentry and Recidivism

check_circle_outline Removed the criminal record box from Aventiv job applications to expand hiring opportunities for formerly incarcerated individuals.
check_circle_outline Sponsored the Second Annual Correctional Education Reentry Summit hosted by Ashland University and supported the participation of formerly incarcerated students of the University.
check_circle_outline Contributing a total of $3 million to efforts and organizations focused on reducing recidivism, including Freedom Rides, a nonprofit that helps formerly incarcerated individuals purchase cars to facilitate essential transportation to get to job interviews or doctor appointments.
check_circle_outline During the COVID-19 pandemic, Aventiv made free educational programming available to an additional 13,546 incarcerated students via the JPay tablet. Students have enrolled in 26,596 additional courses since March 1, 2020.
check_circle_outline We made the Project Gutenberg library of free e-books available to incarcerated individuals on their JPay tablets. Restrictions for some titles may apply if they are deemed inappropriate by corrections officials
check_circle_outline Finalized partnership with Televerde – which aligns with Aventiv’s Second Chance Hiring Principles and commitment to further invest in re-entry services — employing forty-five incarcerated women to support customer service efforts with the goal of increasing quality service and empathy in interacting with consumers.

Listening and Responsiveness

Technology and Innovation

check_circle_outline Purchased new equipment for California correctional facilities to help expand communications options for incarcerated people during the COVID-19 pandemic.

check_circle_outline Intercepted more than 7,000 cases of suspicious activity since January 1, 2020, including threats, violence, witness tampering, financial fraud and other unlawful actions through investigative technology.
